The Beauty of An Ice Storm

This past week, I had the pleasure of waking up to an ice covered wonderland. Although an Ice Storm can bring many perils, whether its having to drive on ice covered roads or even get to your car without falling. Ice can also be beautiful to photograph.

Luckily, I had nothing pressing that had to be done in town. I was able to see the pretty crab apple tree with its apples ice covered and see the trees covered in a layer of ice. I hiked up my tracker boots and decided to venture out. Getting out of my house was a little challenging as the steps and walkway were covered in a thick layer of ice, but after I slid into position I started photographing.

Some of the results are below. Enjoy everyone! I hope you see the beauty in Ice. As long as you don't have to drive in it or walk in it. I hope you weren't too effected by the Ice Storm this week and that you all made it to where you were going with not a lot of headache.

The First Week of January 2017

As the first week of January 2017 comes to a close, I am reflecting on how beautiful it can be to photograph snow when it's hit by the sun.

Earlier this week, I was able to photograph a lightly snow covered lilac tree in front of my house. As I watched the sun peek through the blue skies, the snow began to sparkle and shine. Some of my favorites are posted below. Photographing is never boring to me, I always find something to photograph thats new. I like getting out in the mornings to get photographs, that to me makes it a great start to the day.
